Ubisoft’s Collaboration with Integral Reality Labs
Ubisoft Entertainment, a renowned video game publisher, has created some of the most acclaimed and beloved games, including Just Dance, the Tom Clancy series, and the top-rated Assassin’s Creed franchise. Assassin’s Creed has received multiple awards and is considered one of the world’s best-selling video game franchises. Published in late 2020, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the most recent game released.
Excitingly, Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the next installment in the long-running action-adventure series, is set to be released in 2023. However, that’s not the only surprise the Assassin’s Creed game fans can expect in the following months.

In collaboration with Integral Reality Labs, a co-reality platform dedicated to merging digital and analog technologies, Ubisoft has rekindled its interest in NFT projects. Their partnership has led to the creation of the Assassin’s Creed Smart Collectibles, which are Polygon-Based NFT access passes that can be paired with actual physical collectibles.
This isn’t Ubisoft’s first attempt to infiltrate the Web 3.0 space. Their journey began with their initial experiment with NFTs called Quartz Digits and has now evolved into the development of these semi-hybrid NFTs within the Assassin’s Creed universe.
Assassin’s Creed Smart Collectibles
As per the Assassin’s Creed Smart Collectibles Twitter account, these collectibles offer a unique combination of digital and physical elements. The physical component of the Assassin’s Creed Smart Collectibles is a 3D-printed cube. This cube is connected to the same address as the digital counterpart of the collectible, creating an unbreakable bond between the two.
Fans who successfully obtain their Digital Soul at launch date will be prompted to use our Customizer to transform their Digital Soul. Your Digital Soul, that includes unique outfits and weapons, will be loaded into the Customizer, & displayed in a 3D editing page. Once you have completed your customization, you will be prompted to add your shipping information and place your order for your 3D printed Smart Collectible.

What Will They Look Like?
As of September 2022, the Assassin’s Creed franchise sold over 200 copies, demonstrating its widespread popularity among gamers. In addition to the game sales, there is a thriving market for Assassin’s Creed fan art, which includes a wide range of creative works such as paintings, decorations, and accessories. This showcases the franchise’s immense popularity and the passionate and extensive fan base it has attracted over the years.
With Ubisoft’s re-entry into the NFT market through Assassin’s Creed Smart Collectibles, this project is expected to draw attention to non-fungible tokens and blockchain technologies. The association of a renowned franchise like Assassin’s Creed with NFTs will likely generate curiosity and interest among fans and newcomers, which will only further promote the adoption and exploration of blockchain-based assets such as non-fungible tokens.
The Smart Collectible offers a unique bond of digital and physical collectibles, seamlessly merging the two worlds. Through IRL's proprietary 3D printing technology, we embed the digital soul into a physical Smart Collectible, minted on the blockchain, ensuring its authenticity.
Says on the official Smart Collectible website.
Assassin’s Creed collectibles will feature various rarity levels, with higher tiers allowing for better customization options. Collectible owners will have the opportunity to customize their Smart Assassin’s Creed Collectibles using different weapons and outfits, resulting in a truly personalized collectible. Buyers will be able to customize their character by enhancing their “digital soul” and watch their creations come to life using Smart Collectible’s interactive platform Soul Customizer. Still, one of the most memorable features is the ability to choose a pose from an animation clip and tie your favorite in-game moment to your Smart Collectible.
This merger of NFTs and physical objects isn’t anything new. However, Ubisoft and Integral Rarity Labs are using NFTs to redefine the traditional gaming industry and to try to find a better and more unique way to connect with the community.
