ChatGPT-4 Is Here
OpenAI first introduced its chatbot, ChatGPT, to the public in November 2022. It didn’t take much for it to win over a considerable chunk of users who came in touch with this innovative and oddly fascinating tool. As a result, people now rely on ChatGPT daily – the OpenAI’s chatbot has become a staple of many people’s work. ChatGPT allows people to generate code, get the perfect cherry pie recipe, or create the ideal intro that will hook the readers within seconds, bringing more efficiency and excitement into its users’ lives.

Still, as efficient and innovative as the first ChatGPT used to be, its questionable outputs, restrictiveness, and “naiveness” raised lots of suspicions. On one side, people saw the ChatGPT as a looming threat that would jeopardize their jobs; on the other, people were worried about safety, biases, and the accuracy of ChatGPT’s outputs.
But neither ChatGPT non-supporters nor allies were in the wrong. OpenAI’s chatbot changed how we work, use tools, and communicate ideas. But it was also “half-done,” not ready to be used by the general public due to possible inaccuracies and some scandals involving Molotov cocktails, bias, and offensive language.
But all of this likely won’t matter now because ChatGPT is going on a well-deserved break, and its successor, ChatGPT-4, is taking over the AI chatbot scene. OpenAI released the newest chatbot on March 14, 2023, the day that will, as we will soon find out, either mark OpenAI’s amelioration of its bot or, rather, its undoing.

What Is ChatGPT-4 All About?
Let’s start from the beginning – What is Chat GPT-4?
ChatGPT-4 is an AI chatbot, or as the name says, a Generative Pre-trained Transformer, hence the “GPT.” Its predecessor was version three, while the ChatGPT is the fourth iteration of OpenAI’s software that makes our beloved chatbot act like a very real, intelligent, and mostly well-mannered human being.
OpenAI says in its introduction to ChatGPT-4 that this is its most advanced system. We can expect safer, more practical, and user-friendly outputs, so we could say that this AI bot is gradually getting smarter and even more human-like.
Although it was released in the middle of March, Microsoft incorporated the early version of ChatGPT-4 in its search engine, Bing, a few weeks before the upgrade went live. If you’ve been using Bing during that period, chances are you have caught a glimpse of ChatGPT-4.
We are happy to confirm that the new Bing is running on GPT-4, which we’ve customized for search. If you’ve used the new Bing preview at any time in the last five weeks, you’ve already experienced an early version of this powerful model.

ChatGPT-4 Features
One of the most significant improvements of OpenAI’s chatbot is its ability to understand image inputs. In other words, ChatGPT-4 is now an AI chatbot with “multimodal” capabilities, meaning it can successfully generate outputs based on either text or image inputs.
For example, you could include an image along with your text input to get a better, more accurate, or detailed response from ChatGPT-4.

OpenAI’s chatbot can now process images and discuss them, which is an essential breakthrough in the AI world. It could explain memes, describe each and every element of a picture, or dissect graph images and use that information to generate a perfect response.
These are exciting times because when ChatGPT was introduced to the public, we had to discover how to fully utilize this technology to our advantage. The process was exciting, and we slowly learned how to approach the AI to get the response we wanted.
Before ChatGPT and other AI models appeared on the scene, users relied primarily on SEO practices to get the information they wanted in the shortest time possible. For example, if you wanted to find a good café, you’d likely type in your search engine something along the lines of “best cafes near me” or “aesthetic coffee shops nyc.” We didn’t have to put effort or get in touch with our creative side to get the information we needed. But now that we can rely on chatbots such as ChatGPT, our input needs to change. And it is changing, in a way. We are discovering different approaches and thinking of new ways to formulate questions for ChatGPT.
Although it isn’t noticeable yet, we are changing as technology evolves. It got to the point that people became so witty and creative that they managed to find a way to “trick” ChatGPT or surpass restrictions, including the use of vulgar and inappropriate language.
Still, it is too early to speculate how our inputs will change now that the new version of ChatGPT is available. But as more people discover ChatGPT-4, we will likely be able to answer that question soon.

Besides new features such as image recognition, OpenAI incorporated other improvements into their chatbot. If you’ve been following the AI scene in the past few months, you’ve probably noticed people talking about ChatGPT’s limitations in the form of bias, incorrect responses, and similar restrictions. Fortunately, OpenAI recognized ChatGPT-3/ChatGPT-3.5’s flaws on time and started working on delivering a more collaborative chatbot.
ChatGPT-4 presumably now produces more accurate outputs; it’s safer and less biased. One of the main problems with its predecessor is that it was providing inaccurate and false responses regarding sensitive subjects. Still, OpenAI has been working on solutions for the past six months to eliminate these faults from the AI’s hivemind.
ChatGPT-4 is marketed as a more creative version of the previous iteration. But not only is it more creative but also more eloquent. OpenAI incorporated a more extensive word base into ChatGPT-4 and ensured non-English speakers get to enjoy more accurate, grammatically correct, and well-written outputs. Although the language barriers are yet to be fully crossed, making ChatGPT-4 more accessible was a crucial step towards visible improvements.
ChatGPT vs ChatGPT-4: How Do They Differ?
The most apparent difference between these versions is the ability to process images. ChatGPT doesn’t accept image inputs, but I’ve decided to check whether it could provide output based on online image URLs. Spoiler alert – it couldn’t.

As you can see, the previous ChatGPT version will deliver the output and try to give you an accurate answer. Regardless, its description didn’t match the meme I provided. Of course, I didn’t expect an accurate output; I was simply using this example to highlight the drastic differences between ChatGPT and ChatGPT-4.
ChatGPT-4, on the other hand, evolved to the point of understanding memes. Not only can it recognize what’s in the picture, but it also explains why it is funny.

But no, the differences aren’t reflected in image inputs only. ChatGPT-4 is brighter and better at understanding prompts and readjusting output based on the user’s needs. This new feature will open doors to education, efficiency, and creativity, allowing users to rely on this chatbot and fully incorporate it into their everyday lives.

Whether it be for work, study, or pure entertainment, ChatGPT-4 has the potential to enrich our experience on the internet and encourage its users to think outside of the box and scout for information in an entirely different way.
Still, this all poses another critical question – how much is ChatGPT-4 actually accurate?
OpenAI just released ChatGPT-4, so it will take some time before we learn from other users’ experiences and perhaps create an estimate of how often it makes mistakes. So, for now, ChatGPT-4 is a fun and exciting tool. Yet, despite all the hype, its users might prove otherwise.
