Custom Instructions

Earlier in June, OpenAI introduced Custom instructions, a feature that allows users to give ChatGPT custom requests or context that could be applied to their conversation with this popular chatbot. This feature can now improve efficiency and style and end even avoid the bot’s frequent confusion. At forst, the feature was available to Plus ChatGPT users only. For the record, premium users pay $20 a month to access advanced ChatGPT features.

But, as OpenAI stated in its Custom Instruction announcement, the company is now expanding this feature to all ChatGPT users, including those on Android or iOS. All free users, except those from the EU and UK, can now customize their ChatGPT conversations and give specific commands to their AI interlocutor. According to OpenAI’s recent tweets, free ChatGPT users from the UK and EU can expect this feature to become available in the following weeks.

Thanks to this feature, all users no longer need to repeat industry-related information in their prompts or specify over and over again how they want the chatbot to respond. Not only that, but this could also be a great tool for those who want to learn a new language, as the custom instructions feature allows them to adapt the chatbot to their knowledge level and practice conversing in another language at their own pace. In other words, opportunities brought by the new feature are endless, and OpenAI’s decision to make it available to everyone will undoubtedly expand ChatGPT’s use cases.
