The creative world is buzzing with excitement as Adobe introduces its latest innovation, Firefly. This groundbreaking generative AI has the potential to revolutionize the way we create and design, but it also raises a burning question: Is Firefly coming for your jobs?

Adobe Firefly, announced in March 2023, is a family of creative, generative AI models designed to empower creators of all experience levels to generate high-quality images and stunning text effects. With its integration into Adobe Creative Cloud products like Photoshop and Illustrator, Firefly promises to offer new ways to ideate, create, and communicate while significantly improving creative workflows.

But what does this mean for the artists, designers, and content creators who rely on their skills and imagination to make a living? Fear not, dear creatives! While Firefly may seem like a formidable force, we’ll explore the ways in which this innovative tool can enhance and complement human creativity rather than replace it.
The world’s most populous country plans to stay that way – China has launched a dating app aimed at increasing the birth rate, which was at a record low in 2022. Having in mind that the state unofficially monitors the behavior of citizens through official applications, the question of user privacy and the protection of human rights is again at stake.

For example, one of the things that made the original Dead Island game unique was its “vacation-gone-awry” premise, pitting the living dead against palm trees and sandy beaches in contrast to the usual dreary zombie games with dark color palettes and tough characters. Dead Island 2 is continuing in the footsteps of its predecessor by presenting a once-beautiful tourist destination now covered in blood and guts.
In parallel with the current development of artificial intelligence, there is also a growing discussion about job automation. According to the latest predictions, this is about 300 million positions. Experts argue that automation can only be a good thing, and that workers will not run out of jobs but will move to more sophisticated, better-paid positions. Given that this change is happening at a speed that no one has predicted, it is necessary to take a step back and see what kind of economic impact it can have on society.
Last week, Italy surprised the (digital) world with its decision to ban one of the most disputed AI tools – ChatGPT. The startling decision resulted from privacy concerns following the recent data breach and the absence of any factual regulations. The ban, however, is not permanent and is supposed to be removed as soon as ChatGPT starts respecting privacy.

With such a move, Italy became the first European country to forbid the legendary AI chatbot. What steps, if any, will other countries take?
By recent forecasts, 70% of the world’s population will live in urban centers by 2050. That also means our cities will become even more crowded and energy-consuming if we don’t take the right measures now. If you’re interested in how our cities can become smarter, read on.
What was once a distant dream and science fiction is now becoming a reality. The breakneck rise of artificial intelligence and ChatGPT raise grave concerns that we have granted AI too much power. The recent discussion on Twitter about the dramatic progress ChatGPT and AI have boggled the participants’ mind. The conclusion left lingering was that, with new upgrades which will occur much sooner than we might think, AI could be indistinguishable from humans. The urgency of the matter is underscored by the latest news that UNESCO is calling on nations around the world to promptly begin regulating the use of artificial intelligence, specifically implementing the 2021 Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence.
Centralized or web apps – or just apps – are owned by a single company. These are the ones we use on a daily basis – some were pre-configured into your phone, and some found their way to your phone through App Store or Google Play. What’s important to know about these apps is that their software resides on company servers; hence the term centralized – the control of the software and data transmission is in the hands of one, perhaps a few, parties.
If you want to use a centralized app, you’ll download its copy, and the data you generate through app usage will travel back and forth from your phone to the company servers until you deinstall it.
On the other hand, a decentralized app resides and operates on a blockchain, a distributed, interactive public ledger permanently maintaining a list of all records within a specific ecosystem.
