Former US President Is Back on X
Donald Trump, former US president, was suspended from Twitter on January 8, 2021, following the United States Capitol attack. The storming of the US capital resulted from Trump’s defeat, which motivated a mob of his supporters to wreak havoc on the Capitol Building in Washington, DC.
Trump’s account was then suspended as some feared that his presence on this prominent social media platform would ignite more violence and disorder, as he used it to talk about how his defeat in the 2020 election was due to voter fraud.
Nevertheless, his account reappeared on Twitter in November 2022, thanks to Elon Musk, but Trump only just now returned to the platform. But he didn’t come empty-handed – Trump returned with his own mugshot and a not-so-subtle appeal for donations.

On Thursday, Trump turned himself in at the Fulton Country jail on various charges that arose because of this alleged attempt to overturn the 2020 US election results. His mugshot was only taken during this most recent booking, despite the fact that he was facing other criminal charges.

Trump was released on a $200,000 bond after completing the booking process at the Fulton County jail. Of course, the next logical step was to share this experience on social media. Trump posted his mugshot taken on August 24, with the caption “ELECTION INTERFERENCE, NEVER SURRENDER, on X, as well as a link that would take you to his fundraising page.
It’s safe to say that his comeback didn’t go unnoticed. According to Reuters, Trump’s post gathered over 14 million views less than an hour after going live.
